Two footswitchable channels: Classic and Modern. “More is better” is true for many customers, esp. when it comes to comparing two combos with the same street price. Here’s what the two channels offer.
Vintage: with independent controls for Volume & Gain, this offers the grit and girth worthy of the company known by many as “the Sound of Rock.”
Modern: for modern(ish) styles like slap, crispness and clarity is a must and this is perfect channel to use when crystal clean notes are the order of the day.
Selectable, Variable Compressor on the Modern Channel. Compression helps when a smooth consistent low-end pulse is required and the MB30 offers it. In addition to having its own level control, the built-in compressor has an LED indicator which glows green when the Compressor is switched on and then changes to red whenever the compression threshold is reached and the effect kicks in.
3-way Voice Shift switch Tonal flexibility of the MB30 with three positions:
Position 1: smooth lows, restrained mids with a slight bump in the highs combine for a classic valve amp bass sound
Position 2: the low mids are accentuated while the upper mids are subtly attenuated, giving an aggressive growl
Position 3: the mids are scooped for a cutting, “in your face” tone.
