PXR4 - Quick Guide

Some easy steps to recording

* Playback mode is the result of doing a CONV (conversion) mix - down to two tracks.

This is a single file that can be saved, e-mailed, converted to a stereo WAV file, etc.

How to record & playback a guitar track of a new song

* Save the demo songs to your computer (via USB) to free up memory to record new tracks

* You must delete one of the demo songs first to record new tracks on the included card.

* Buy a 2nd card, it’s always good to have a spare one around. Use a 3.3 volt card (corner missing on top right).

  1. Inserting the card

  • Insert the Included or a blank Smart Media card into the card slot located on bottom of unit (slide cover open, push in the card).

  1. Connecting your guitar

    • Connect your guitar to the PXR4’s (GUITAR INPUT) jack with a standard shielded 1/4” guitar cable.

    • Slide the (INPUT SELECT) switch to GUITAR position for this example.

OR   Switch the (INPUT SELECT) to MIC and use the internal condenser microphone.

  1. Connecting your headphones

    • Connect your headphones to the PXR4’s (Phone Jack) adjust phone level). (You can also use the Stereo Out to an amp or audio system using a stereo mini to 1/4" or RCA).

  1. Setting the Master fader                                                                                                   Set to “0” (so you don’t damage your ears or speakers)

   5.  Turning on the power

    • Connect the included AC adaptor to the (DC 4.5V) jack on the backside of the PXR4 or use batteries (2XAA). Battery compartment located on bottom of unit.

    • Slide the (Power/Back light) switch on the rear panel of the PXR4, and the start-up screen will appear in the display screen. Using the Back Light with batteries will shorten the battery life (It’s best to use the adaptor for long usage, plus it’s included for FREE).

   6. Set all faders and knobs to “6”, this will be a good starting level for playback.
