Music and sales management has been Terry Smith’s forte since the beginning racking up almost 30 years in the music industry business. His first epiphany w/ the Korg family of brands was when at 16 years old, he walked into his local music store and fired up a newly delivered Marshall 100 watt Super Lead Plexi full stack. It was a moment he never forgot. And this happened in Marshall, MO at the local store, The Vox Box. After college, Terry graduated w/ a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Central Missouri, w/ an emphasis in guitar, saxophone and cello. After teaching for a few years, Terry embarked on a solid touring schedule for nearly 4 years playing clubs in the Midwest and Lake Tahoe. His performance credits include appearing w/ and working with artists such as blues great Luther Allison, Leon Russell, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Wood Herman’s big band, Velvet Revolver drummer, Matt Sorum, Steely Dan/Doobie Bros guitarist, Jeff Baxter, Asia’s Geoffrey Downes and many others. Terry’s MI credits include Regional sales manager for Electro-Voice, sales management positions w/ Kaman Corp, Gibson, and retail experience w/ the chain, St Ann School Music Service in the early 80’s.
